Volunteering Untapped was born out of the realization that young professionals want to give back to their community but simply didn't know the best way to get involved.

Our mission is to provide young professionals with inspiring, rewarding, and impactful experiences that ignite a passion for future volunteering – both with our organization and independently. In addition to New York City, we have chapters in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

Our vision

NYC is full of talented, caring individuals ready to make a difference. We unlock resources and opportunities by tapping into the vast pool of individuals who want to volunteer. We encourage these volunteers to tap into opportunities with NYC nonprofits, either through our events or connections we help cultivate.

Volunteering in our community is incredibly important to us, as is building our VU community. After volunteering, we head to a local spot to tap a few beers (if desired), continue building connections, and tap into new opportunities through our shared passion for giving back and inspiring change in our communities.

How does it work?

The concept is simple – we volunteer with a different nonprofit organization in New York City on the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, then spend the afternoon at a local bar for food, drinks, hanging out, and fun with everyone who volunteered.
